Long Description
Summary
Ensures the timely entry, maintenance, quality and confidentiality of data and information secured within the Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) system and the records management system (RMS). Supports the flow of information throughout the organization to support investigations, prosecutions, deployment of resources, reporting and data analytics.
You Will:
- Process and input data into information systems per legislation, processes, and procedures.
- Gain advanced knowledge of police and court documents, legislation, processes, and RMS/CPIC systems through training and professional development.
- Query multiple information systems and exchange information with external police agencies and justice partners at all levels.
- Ensure the accuracy of RMS and CPIC information, addressing discrepancies with originators.
- Recommend and implement changes to information management processes and procedures.
- Communicate information management processes to all members, ensuring compliance with tact and diplomacy.
- Apply legislation, policies, and procedures to police or court documents, safeguarding against unlawful information dissemination.
- Support criminal coding of occurrences for Statistics Canada reporting.
- Collaborate with team members and other divisions on information sharing and management.
- Analyze information sources, taking appropriate action or making recommendations based on training.
- Ensure records retention complies with legislation and procedures.
- Train and guide new and temporary employees, as assigned.
You Have:
- One (1) year of relevant experience in legal or justice administration, health care administration, information management, or a related discipline is required.
- Previous experience in customer service is preferred.
You Are:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Superior organizational skills to manage priorities.
